Kalibobo Village

Overlooking Dallman Passage at the entrance of the beautiful Madang Harbour and adjacent to the historic Madang Resort and its first class facilities is PNG’s newest resort, Kalibobo Village.

Kalibobo Village is a secure, village resort style complex set in magnificently landscaped grounds with 60 self-contained deluxe and executives suites plus two presidential suites, as well as 10 three bedroom cottages which are available for longer term lease, all with a private bathroom and balcony and some with a kitchenette.

The Resort offers a concierge, and electric courtesy cars whisk you to your room on arrival. Our satellite TV system delivers 20 channels, choose from German, French, Chinese, American, Australian and PNG channels with two channels for DVD in-house movies and a videotext channel.

You can choose to eat simply using the kitchenette in most rooms, you can order from the extensive room menu or you can choose to eat from the Haus Win featuring local and Chinese, the Janek Aben western a-la-carte or the Rakuen Japanese Restaurant – all on the Kalibobo/Madang Resort property, a short pleasant walk through the landscaped gardens or if you prefer, call an electric courtesy car.

Facilities include a sandy beach swimming lagoon, a superb day/night tennis court, kayaks, sailing catamarans, traditional canoes, fishing, diving, sightseeing tours and cruises to nearby islands in the Madang Marine Park. Guests also have easy access to all of the facilities of Madang Resort and just a short stroll away is Madang’s 9 hole golf course, squash courts, a bowling green and more tennis courts.

If you are planning to fish you have the choice of Bertram Game Boat, smaller banana boat or a tinny with or without a driver. If you really want to learn from the experts, we can arrange for an expert to take you out in a canoe. The Madang Country Club welcomes visitors. Sightseeing can be arranged from the MTS office for day tours, overnight touring to the Sepik and Highlands, helicopter tours to remote inland areas. Visits to nearby villages, the Divine Word University, markets, a ‘sing sing’ or bird watching, hire and Avis Rental Car or a boat can all be arranged to make the most of your visit to Madang.
